With a global pandemic in place, investing in resorts doesn’t seem to be the best decision but today’s guest shares how it is a great opportunity. We discuss with Melanie how she got started in resort investing, how she utilizes the BRRRR method in her business, the team needed to be successful in hospitality, and the key decisions made to ensure success during Covid-19. Melanie also shares with us the mindset needed to reach your goals and the importance of creating a final vision to work towards.
Melanie brings her heart to all she does. In her current role as Partner and CCO (Chief Creative Officer) for VIVAMEE Hospitality, she and her team lead all design and development for the rapidly expanding VIVAMEE resort brand. Together they have completely re-envisioned more than 100,000 square feet of interior space and are currently developing over 400 acres.
With every aesthetic choice Melanie makes in the redesigning of our properties she keeps the mission of VIVAMEE close at heart. This mission, to Revive the Soul, is very dear to her. She realizes the power it has to affect our guest’s experience at the resort. Melanie envisions every VIVAMEE property as a transformative space where every element works together to enkindle an authentic reviving of a person’s soul.
As a Co-Founder of Accountable Equity, Melanie is passionate about making ownership of real estate (even resort real estate) possible for everyone. Her experience in real estate investing began with her first home. In 1998, she was one of the original “House Hackers”. Melanie loves being a wife and mother of 10 children (no twins). Married to Josh McCallen for 24 years while raising her 10 children and trying to foster a culture of love at home.
