In this minisode, Liz and Andresa discuss their different experiences with mentorship, the mistakes they made, and the lessons they learned. There is no "right" or "wrong" when it comes to having a mentor. What matters is what you do with that relationship and how you leverage it to improve your business. Here’s a guide to help you figure out what works for you:
Questions to ask yourself
Where do I want to be in 5 years and how fast do I want to achieve those goals?
What type of support do I need?
Is it one on one or group?
Why this mentor is a good fit? Did he/she is where I want to be? Do they walk the walk?
How much do I need to invest? (Don't look at it as a cost)
Is this person resourceful?
Who can I talk to that will share about their experience with this person?
Will they hold me accountable?
What are your expectations in terms of communication, progress? What do they offer to meet your goals?
